Skyfever has dropped their new single titled ‘The Wait’. Written and executed as an ode to Chris Cornell on the anniversary of his death, ‘The Wait’ is a sonic interpretation of one artist by another group of artists in a way that not only shows the impact of that artist but the influence and appreciation as well. This is the best way to honor someone, in my opinion, because you continue the music, and music can be a great healer.

The song is such a heartfelt piece that with the combination of the beautiful vocals with the orchestral yet gritty backdrop that is the instrumentation, you can feel the emotion in the lyrics and dedication in the music.  Only a true group of musicians can accomplish that. Bravo!

About ‘The Wait’

‘The Wait’ was written on the 1st anniversary of the death of Chris Cornell and arrived as one conscious flow of music – a gift from the other side perhaps! This brooding sonic abyss of self-reflection speaks of struggle and of courage in the face of overwhelming odds. The burden of bravery is well and truly on show here.

Lyrics

I walk in silent slumber and choose to talk, every day’s a number, I fly away, crash with the waves,
I just wanna survive, I wanna feel alive, I’m pushing through the storm, I can’t wait anymore, I just wanna survive

Love unkind floats in darker water, since you, I’ m blind, I cannot see the number,
I fly away, crash with the waves,

I didn’t know I could talk, I’m only learning to walk, it’s a crying shame, I can’t wait this way, I’m only trying to survive, I’m only trying to survive

I’m only trying to survive, I wanna feel alive, I’m pushing through the storm, I can’t wait anymore,

I’m only trying to survive, I wanna feel alive, I’m pushing through the storm, I can’t wait anymore, I just wanna survive

I’m only trying to survive, I’m only trying to survive
I’m only trying to survive, I’m only trying to survive

About Skyfever

The Irish band behind the breakthrough event for new music in the US. Their previous single is the ‘Keep Pounding’ song of the Carolina Panthers games in the NFL and promises to make an even bigger impact at their 75,000 seater Bank of America Stadium next season.

They have already got the support of rock gods such as Chris Slade of ACDC and the great Alice Cooper, who gave them their big break in the US.

With Kerrang Radio’s Johnny Doom believing they are ‘poised to take over the world’, they have an exciting year ahead with the release of their single ‘The Wait’ and their eagerly awaited debut album. No other new band is attempting the heights Skyfever is achieving.
