Koncept has today released his new EP titled ‘Lucy’. An ode to the one who gave him life, Koncept pays is respect and gratitude the best way a child can do for his mother; with ones own creativity. That better life she made for her son is perfectly reflected in and throughout this EP. We hear an artist reach creative maturity. Lessons learned and life living, Koncept takes those lessons and pays it forward with words of wisdom and warning set to massive backbeats and bombastic rhythm. This is music you feel, because it was made with feeling.

About Koncept & ‘Lucy’
The title “Lucy” has a deeper meaning than just a female name. Koncept was raised in Queens, NY most of his life by his single mother (pictured on the EP cover art below). Where he comes from, a “loosie” was a term for a cigarette at his local bodega. The title and the music on the “Lucy” EP represents Koncept’s story, his upbringing, his home, his roots, his journey, and the most important person in his life (his mother).
The lead single & title track “Lucy” paints a vivid picture into his neighborhood, his environment, and really shows you the strength and talent to why and how he got here.
Koncept’s single “Leather” highlights the fact that it takes a lot of strength and confidence to navigate to the path you invision for yourself. With all the distractions in our environments, it requires discipline, courage and strategy to determine how to move, what is valuable and what is not while moving towards that vision.
Like every human, he too has been dragged down by distractions and circumstances, but it is overcoming those hard times through love for yourself, your passions, and your people that make you “tougher than leather”.
This is a reflection of Koncept’s upbringing, raised by a super strong single mom that worked multiple jobs to support him after leaving Koncept’s father who was addicted to drugs. It wasn’t easy, but she knew what she had to do to give her son a better life.
Finally, “ICE” is the moment we’ve all been waiting for.
