Kallosity’s Debut EP Survival of the Lyrics

Godfather Entertainment’s artist Kallosity who was recently featured on Ridah Redd’s EP Ridah Music on a track produced by multi-platinum producer Lex Luger, released his debut EP titled Survival of the Lyrics Chapter One. The EP is a 6 track effort from the Godfather artist and shows off Kallosity’s lyrical skill, styles, rhyme pattern and shows he is ready to become a superstar in the music industry.

Kallosity shows that he can handle this EP himself without any large features. The only feature on Survival of the Lyrics Chapter one is on track number 5 titled Flatline. The track features fellow Godfather artist Ridah Redd and Tweet Tiggidy. This track is over 6 minutes long and are talking about what they need to do before they flatline.

The EP starts off with a track titled Plays, a heavy hard-hitting song that sets the tempo for the EP. Kallosity switches his flow several times on this from fast to slow showing off his talents and flexible something which will keep him relevant in the music industry for a long time.

Following Plays is the standout hit Do a Thang, this is a must listen for any hip-hop fan. Kallosity shines the brightest here with the first single of his EP and video to follow.

Next track is Lovers, Haters a song speaking about his lovers and haters and how they have turned him into the man, the artist he is today. Another well-produced track and Kallosity does an excellent job with his harmonies on the chorus.

If You Want It is a track about a woman and Kallosity is speaking to that woman and to his listeners about sexual behaviours he plans to have with the woman. Another track which shows and proves Kallosity can adjust to music industry and for radio.

The final track of the EP is a hard hitting track titled Bout My Paper. A track where Kallosity tells everyone he is well about his paper/money. The shortest track on the EP coming in at 2 minutes and 23 seconds but Kallosity shines on this again sounding unique in each of his songs.

Overall this EP is an excellent first release from the Godfather artist and hope to see much more from Kallosity and the whole Godfather team in the near future.

Retz Dishes Out ‘Sweet Memories’ For Only $0.99

The singer and songwriter from Sweden known as Retz has released his latest single, “Sweet Memories.” The track has been published on the Mareld Records music label. With traditional folk-style lyrics and that unmistakably American sound, “Sweet Memories” is a genuine country-western ballad from across the pond, one which no fan of the genre should miss.

Retz (often stylized RETZ) cites as main artistic influences such legends as the Rolling Stones, BB-King, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Paul Carrack, Phil Collins. Bill Haley, Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, and Bruce Springsteen. His characteristic vocal tone has elements of both Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison, and it stands out even against the background of expert guitar work and marvelous songwriting.

Speaking of the themes of his new single, Retz writes, “Whether it’s the love of a man to a woman he’s so drawn to, a mother letting go of her son for so many years, or simply missing a loved one, this song ‘Sweet Memories’ speaks for itself.”

Retz puts his enjoyment of music before other related concerns. “I am an independent artist,” he writes. “The most important thing for me is to always keep it fun to create music. Thereafter, it will be really fun if people like what I create.”

Retz was born in 1956 growing up with rock, soul, blues and country music. He joined his first publicly noted band in the late sixties. He played rock music with Bobcat’s Rock Show in Gothenberg, and after an extended hiatus recorded an EP called “Lightning” in 2012. Spring of 2014 saw the release of his “Ride the Wave” EP, after which he corresponded with Australia’s Ramon Ray. Ray wrote lyrics and sent them to Retz, and “Sweet Memories” is the timely result of their collaboration.

“Sweet Memories” by Retz is available online worldwide.

Magic Places – Photography by Florian Westermann

For Florian Westermann photography is an ongoing process of self-discovery, learning, and following a deep desire to go out and explore the world. Photography is much more than producing a lasting memory for him. It gives him the opportunity to give artistic expression to the portrayal of nature and habitat characterized by his view. The landscape is the perfect source of inspiration, always renewing and inexhaustible, an epic framework that provides unprecedentedly new opportunities every day.

Florian Westermann (b. 1980), grew up in West Berlin and witnessed firsthand the fall of the wall. Reunification and the city as a rapidly changing melting pot influenced his childhood and youth. Already in this context, he developed a very strong interest in photography. The city offered him an inexhaustible wealth of inspiration and motives. However, he soon discovered his special predilection for nature photos. After leaving school, he started his career as a business journalist in 1999. On numerous journeys, he also had the opportunity to devote himself to landscape photography and to discover new, fascinating places over and over again.

Over many years, he managed to teach himself the knowledge that he needed as a photographer. Passion was just as key to his success as his willingness to spare neither expense nor effort in search of the best moments of nature. He realized almost nothing brings people together in the way photography does. For Florian Westermann, it is a universal form of expression that appeals to people very directly in a rational and an emotional way.

With the exhibition “Magical Places” at ‘art place berlin’, he exhibits works of recent years to a wider audience in Berlin for the first time. Forty-five high-quality large-formats show impressive motifs from the cities of New York and San Francisco, the vastness of the American Southwest, the paradise islands of the Seychelles, and motifs from Europe such as the German and Swiss Alps or the Mediterranean island of Sicily.

“Photography is a fire that burns inside my heart and will not let me go. In pristine nature, I find something that is larger and more important than ourselves” – Florian Westermann. Since 2014, he lives and works in Munich.

    First Listen: Lifecycle – Dissolve

    lifecycle

Lifecycle are a live electronic three-piece from East London, fusing breakbeats and psychedelia with improvised digital manipulation. They started life in the late noughties, putting out a string of experimental dance 12″s on London breakbeat labels Electrofly and LondonBreakz. Having started his own Ricochet Records imprint in 2008 (recently celebrating its 20th release), writer / producer Geoff is a continued presence in the city’s leftfield electronica movement.

Bassist Tish met Geoff while exploring the 90s alternative scene, in the bleak corridors of their school music tech studios, their evenings spent recording demos on rusty four-tracks, detuning guitars and crate-digging in the local record store. Hungry for new sounds toward the turn of the century, Geoff began programming abstract digital sketches using FastTracker II (and the 4mb of RAM in his antiquated 486). Around the same time, Tish began experimenting with dance music and left for Europe to spend her summer dancing among the masses. They didn’t see each other again for 15 years.

In 2009, drummer Nick was in the middle of a festival binge. He attended more than a dozen that summer as photographer and journalist (and occasional drum circle crasher), the weeks blurring into a haze of mud, tinnitus and the rolling English countryside. A chance meeting with Geoff at that year’s Glade found a shared interest in developing a more organic strain of live electronica to bring to the stage. Having toured the previous summer playing electronic drums for dance act Debunkt, Nick was itching to take the energy from that summer of love and pound out his tribal grooves on a full acoustic kit. In 2010, unexpectedly reunited ‘in the smoke’ after seeing Atari Teenage Riot at the Camden Electric Ballroom, still neither Tish nor Geoff knew the name of the drop-D chord both had fallen in love with those 15 years prior.

Retreating that summer to construct a new collection of sketches for the band to bring to life, Geoff began expressing thoughts about modern life and the absurdity of office politics through a daily ritual meditating, drinking tea and eating hallucinogenic cacti.

There’s no one trick fix for this dance trio, snubbing trends in favour of an open-minded fusion of styles, held together by tribal percussion and throbbing waves of subbass. Their obsession with spontaneous true live performance leads Lifecycle to approach the stage more like a defrosted prog rock outfit than your average dance act.

The full Lifecycle live band holds their fusion of styles together with an emphasis on true live performance, warping vocals and instruments throughout via a laptop and guitar-mounted MIDI controllers.

Their Debut LP ‘Lino Cosmos’, released on Supersymmetry, follows their tour supporting The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and recent airplay on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 Music Introducing show.

“…London based trio Lifecycle treat a similar line of all-encompassing music … their new single sees them mix unconventional world-beat rhythms with jazzy bass and hints of rock to create something kaleidoscopic, esoteric and wonderful in equal doses…”
    The Metaphorical Boat

“…sort of Black Market era Weather Report colliding with the echoes of Gong and whiffs of early Hawkwind … neither jazz nor rock nor electro but somehow a bit of all that…”
Music Always Gives Me A Lift

“…a deep synergy of electronica and tribal percussions, not like anything else out there right now…”
    Knowledge Magazine

“…expect an air of tense unpredictability with heavy doses of jagged grooves…”
    Breakinasia.com

“…melodic, deep and edgily euphoric, sounding like the first day in Spring on an Alpine mountain, but with a generous dosing of snarling bass…”

First Listen: Pale Fires – Mammoth

    241480_233433593448934_786371519_o

Pale Fires are four London based musicians who came together in 2010, united by their love of psych rock. The band have played venues as diverse as The Cavern Club, 93 Feet East, The Purple Turtle and Scala amongst many others, cultivating a reputation for their explosive live shows, which feature visuals, body paint and a giant Chinese gong.

Pale Fires release their new record ‘Mammoth’ on September 29th 2014 as a name-your-price download via their website.. A limited number of physical copies are also being released, each of which is a unique piece from an original hand-painted mosaic by London artist and fashion designer Peanut Samuels.
Mammoth sees the band adopt an all-analogue straight to tape approach, which they feel best captures the energy and power behind their live sound. The title ‘Mammoth’ was chosen because “It’s strong, fun, fuzzy and earthy – everything the record is.” Pale Fires describe the thirty-minute ‘Mammoth’ as establishing their musical footprint by combining whimsical lyrics with strong fuzzed out riffs and powerful, intricate rhythms. The all-analogue approach was motivated by the band’s love of seventies records, particularly the music of Hendrix, CAN and Pink Floyd.

Pale Fires will launch the new EP on September 27th 2014 at the Shrubbery Studios, Bury St Edmunds, where both ‘Mammoth’ and their last EP, April 2014s ‘Louring Skies’ were recorded. Both records will be performed live in their entirety and a UK tour will follow, showcasing the band’s colourful and carnivalesque live shows.

Black Dawn’s raucous energy and unique brand of metal and heavy rock infused music has been a staple of the Long Island and New York music scene since the band’s formation over 18 years ago. Proving consistency to be the key to success, Black Dawn have honed their skills and built a solid reputation as both individually talented musicians as well as being a formidable unit.

The band is made up of:
Matt Kotten (Lead Guitar / Vocals),
    Tom Kelly (Rhythm Guitar),
    James Lane (Bass Guitar),
    Enzo DiPaolo (Drums).

Black Dawn have no intention of slowing down, despite their 18 years as a band. The band strives to constantly create new and engaging music for their fans. With plenty more gas in their tank, Black Dawn’s creativity shows no sign of running out. Their seemingly endless experience has meant that Black Dawn have an impressive array of performance experience. With their determination to make high quality music, coupled with their dedication to sustaining Black Dawn as a band, it will not be long until they achieve the goals they hoped for 18 years ago when they first formed the Black Dawn. Working with Blue Pie and the marketing team the focus has been on keeping it real. As Damien Reilly, Blue Pie’s CEO says:

“The band stick to their beliefs and we admire that. We are here to help them get their music to a wider audience. One thing that this band and its fans do not suffer is fools. We are keeping all the marketing at a grass roots real level with no fluff. We focus on the fans and let the music do the talking.

I am very pleased to have been able to help coach the band on the development of this new EP. They listen and have done everything we have asked. They know that when they hit the stage, the performance and the bands energy does the rest. Thats why the band is still here 18 years after they 1st played.

For us at the label we know it is just a matter of time before the rest of worlds metal lovers discover just how good these guys are. They will not slow down and fear is a word they have never heard of, and have no time for. Just go to one of the bands shows and let them show you what metal is all about”

Scot Coogan Going Back On The Road with Legendary KISS Guitarist Ace Frehley

Last night was KISS Night in Las Vegas III, an annual event that celebrates the music of KISS and benefits the Imagine Foundation, a non-profit corporation created to help fund music and art programs in Clark County Schools, and it was a huge success! A record breaking amount of donations were received and a capacity crowd packed Count’s Vamp’d, a popular Las Vegas rock bar, restaurant and venue.

During the festivities, Las Vegas based Drummer and Vocalist, Scot Coogan, announced his KISS related news: Coogan will be returning to the Ace Frehley band this fall, along with The Cult’s Chris Wyse, to support Frehley’s new album, Space Invader, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Charts, selling over 20,000 copies in the first week of release. “I consider Ace a friend, and I will always be his drummer. When he called me last week about doing shows, I was honored. We are both excited to have the chance to play together once again.”

In 2012, Coogan took a break after 6 years from his drummer/lead vocalist duties with Frehley to focus on other projects. After touring with Lynch Mob and recording the critically acclaimed Sound Mountain Sessions, Coogan was recruited to drum for Lita Ford on the 2012 Rock of Ages tour with Def Leppard and Poison.

Coogan relocated to Las Vegas in January 2013, after being offered a position as Music Director and Rock Star Counselor at Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp. Scot instructed Rock Star for a Day sessions, Corporate Events and Fantasy Camps, most notably last November’s Modern Drummer sponsored Camp.

After an introduction in 2013 at Count’s Vamp’d, renowned Blue Man Group drummer Jeff Tortora gave Coogan the rare opportunity to drum for his avant-garde band, TINNITUS! After this performance, Coogan was recommended for an audition with Blue Man Group. As fate would have it, he landed this coveted gig and by July 2014, Coogan began performing at Blue Man Group Las Vegas, inside the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino.

Coogan has spent much of the past year establishing himself in the Las Vegas entertainment and music communities. He is now a regular on red carpets around town, performs steadily on the strip and at local venues. His reputation as a top notch session drummer proceeded him from Los Angeles and over the past year, Coogan has recorded dozens of original drum tracks for producers including seven time Grammy Award Winner Steve Thompson, Bobby Ferrari and Mike Varney.

Even with Ace Frehley tour dates on the horizon, Coogan will continue to perform with Blue Man Group and other local artists. Coogan is proud to consider Las Vegas his base of operations and home to his recording studio and production company, Break A Stick. He is securing a Las Vegas residency for his successful Led Zeppelin cover band, 6 Foot Nurse, in which he sings like Robert Plant and drums like John Bonham, concurrently.

Coogan also has a new album coming out on September 16, the self-titled release, Red Zone Rider, a three piece band, featuring guitar hero Vinnie Moore from UFO and MSG’s Kelly Keeling.

Scot Coogan’s upcoming shows and appearances are listed on his website, www.scotcoogan.com and www.facebook.com/scotcoogan.

    Daily Dose: Bulletboys – Symphony

    904098_746989012002616_789022441563216347_o

The BulletBoys began as a collection of talented musicians from high profile bands such as King Kobra and Ratt. Using their credentials, they were able to quickly capture the attention of music fans around the world while front man Marq Torien emerged as one of the most underrated vocalists of the era.

The BulletBoys formed in 1988 at the very peak of the Los Angeles glam metal movement. With record companies constantly searching for new talent, they possessed a pedigree that most bands would kill for. Unlike the other glam rockers of the day, the BulletBoys were more hard rock and blues fusion than pure hair metal. Thanks to comparisons to the likes of Aerosmith and especially Van Halen, talent scouts came running and the band quickly received their first major label contract. Over the years, they have dominated both MTV and radio airwaves, and remain relevant to this day in heavy rotation on VH1’s “Metal Mania” and Internet (SiriusXM’s Hair Nation, KNAC.COM, etc.) radio throughout the world!

Highlights of the summer have included dropping the first single from Yung We$t’s All or Nothing EP, “Bang Out”. The single has appeared on the iTunes “New Hip-Hop Releases” page the week of June 10th, 2014 and so far has had over 20,000 plays on the net as of August 1st. Both Yung We$t and Omar Cruz have been added to Pandora Radio over the summer, as well.

There is plenty in store this Fall for the label too. Yung We$t’s second single “#1000”, from the All or Nothing EP, has a September 30th release date set. The song is produced by Jay Musik. The EP will feature some surprise special guests. Anticipation, according to the label, is very high. Omar Cruz also has new music set to drop any day.

Fans can’t stop talking about LAB Records releases, especially Yung We$t’s latest.

A recent review on iTunes remarked, “Definitely the type of music I’ve been waiting to hear. I see the hard work paying off. All or nothing!”

    ABOUT ITCHY-O
The 32-piece band of masked chaos invites you to dissolve the performer/audience divide and melt into the bedlam, that is the disorienting power of itchy-O. The itchy-O Marching Band (IOMB) is a Denver-based percussion-centered electronic marching band. itchy-O brings a sophisticated savage sound and the sheer ecstasy of instruments untethered and running free. With a driving drum corps battery, Taiko drummers, an arsenal of electronics including synthesizers, theremin, vocoders, and many other special devices, the IOMB completely engulfs and immerses an audience from every angle in a pounding electric bog of music, ephemera and spectacle. The masked and hive-minded IOMB is waging war on predictable mediocrity with their blind-siding-style performances which feature an artfully hazardous Chinese lion, a troupe of sensuous dancing provocateurs, fog, strobes, sequins, sweat and fury.

Itchy-O has played with David Byrne and St. Vincent’s band, performed at Riot Fest with Iggy Pop, Matt & Kim, Naked Raygun, and Public Enemy. They’ve opened for DEVO, Beats Antique, The Melvins, March Fourth, the Extra Action Marching Band, the Warlock Pinchers, headlined and sold-out many other shows. Itchy-O has been featured on Colorado Public Radio, performed for the Biennial of the Americas Kick-off Party, ScoutMob’s Halloween Bash in Atlanta, Westword’s Artopia, conferences such as Adobe’s Effective UI, and toured the US three years in a row.

    ABOUT ALTERNATIVE TENTACLES RECORDS
Alternative Tentacles Records was established in June of 1979 and is most likely one of the longest lasting (and still active) underground record labels around. Although it is perceived by many as a “punk” label, having released records by Dead Kennedys and others, it is actually best known for its impact on the world of underground culture.

In the early years the label gained international attention by introducing the world to artists such as : Dead Kennedys, Butthole Surfers, D.O.A., 7 Seconds, Winston Smith, NoMeansNo, Neurosis and Voice Farm. The label has continued to remain vital in its lengthy history by refusing to adhere to a formula for an easily identifiable ‘Alternative Tentacles Sound.’ Rather, the label has released many political spoken word releases; as well as releasing: Brazilian hardcore, bent pop, faux-country, and assorted rock & roll.

    ABOUT OUR MUSIC GUESTS

    Native Daughters
Native Daughters’ sound packs many of the body blows from heavy, riff-based post-metal, but it also draws melodies from the cream of the mid-90s emo/post-punk crop. Equal parts blunt force trauma and tense, swirling heartbreak; you won’t know what hit you, but you’ll be glad that it did.

    DJ babyshoe
Denver-based babyshoe (Eric Talledo) began in 2012, and since, has become a series of events showcasing local talents in the electronic underground scene. babyshoe co-founded shoeboxx recordings with musical partner Real Cosby, which currently holds 10 producers on the roster from various locations around the world.

Street Addiction Muzik Group releases new LP ‘U.S.A.’

The performers of hip hop known as the Street Addiction Muzik Group have released their latest LP record, “U.S.A.,” which acronym stands for “Undeniable Street Addiction.” The long-playing album comprises 18 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of an hour and 15 minutes. This superlative length brings Street Addiction’s new record closer to the average length of a double LP than to that of a typical long-playing album, which usually clocks in at 40-42 minutes. As might be inferred by the name of the artist, “U.S.A.” has been published on the Street Addiction Muzik Group independent record label. Aggressive, straight-up, and directly from the urban poets of America’s inner cities, “U.S.A.” is a milestone of hip-hop music for the new millennium.

Street Addiction Muzik Group’s “U.S.A.” record is a particularly momentous achievement for the rising rap label, which opened its doors in 2013 with such immediate successes as “REM” by the Young Moors, “Party x Bull—t” by Yum Pow, and “No Cut: the Red and Blue Tapes” by Hye Def. As a new show of cultural force, however, their new “U.S.A.” album features no fewer – and in fact more than – 15 individual hip-hop groups publishing music on the Street Addiction name.

SAMG writes of this: “’U.S.A.’ is a music compilation featuring many artists under the S.A. Muzik Group umbrella. Each artist has their own message. Each artist has their own style and content. This is what makes the project unique. The bar of quality and lyricism has been set. Each artist has set out to raise the bar. Each song will give you a different feel. This album is like a movie. It will play to your every emotion.”

Speaking of how the label came to be and what brought its various artists to music in general, they write: “We come from different backgrounds, but music is our savior. Growing up, music was the light that guided us through the darkness. It kept us level when things appeared shaky. This is true to this day. We’ve come together through a common love and passion for the hip-hop culture. Our goal is to preserve the music while contributing to and advancing it.”

The idea that the hip hop genre is sorely in need of help is not unique to Street Addiction, but the label’s genuine concern and determination to uphold and elevate the American-founded, urban music style is clear – and they have a plan of action.

“We’re from an era when songs weren’t written for radio,” they explain. “Songs were written from the soul. Today, everything on the radio sounds the same. There’s no variety. This compilation is anti-radio. It exhibits an array of styles. It’s from the heart. This is real hip-hop.”

“U.S.A. – Undeniable Street Addiction” from Street Addiction Muzik Group is available online worldwide now.

The U.S. Returns the Favor for the British Invasion

Independent Music Promotions today announced that New Jersey hard rockers AUG will make their UK debut this September in support of their critically acclaimed full-length, Be Careful What You Wish For. With a brand of melodic hard rock that MetalAssault.com believes should “make a more widespread mark on the world of hard rock and heavy metal,” AUG have performed with legends such as Dokken, Great White, and Blue Oyster Cult. More information on Be Careful What You Wish For and AUG’s UK tour is available on the band’s official site.

According to Neil Arnold’s review in Metal Forces Magazine UK, Be Careful What You Wish For is a “staggeringly brilliant composition.” He calls original songs such as “Little Green Fairy” equal to “Black Sabbath at its most frolicking,” and “Light of Day” a “traditional metal firing on all cylinders, with a nod to Ozzy.” Arnold also touts AUG’s closing cover of Toto’s 1982 classic “Africa” by recognizing that “it’s clear that AUG can do no wrong and remain versatile within their framework of weighty hard
rock.” Be Careful What You Wish For was recorded at the world-renowned House of Loud studio in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. The album was mixed and mastered by veteran producer and engineer “Mad Max” Caselnova at Clearcut Recording.

Anthony “Aug” Agostine and Tommy Strange, both seasoned veterans in the New York and New Jersey hard rock scene, formed AUG in 2010 after leaving the popular New Jersey band Fractured Mirror. After teaming with veterans Rich Tanis on bass and Russ LaMater on drums, AUG’s lineup was set. In 2011, AUG released their debut full-length, 20 Years in Hell.

20 Years in Hell received several great reviews by such notables as Eddie Truck, host of VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show. As a result of Truck’s interest in the band, AUG were invited to perform at the 2011 TMS Christmas party, an event they have hosted each year since. 20 Years in Hell went on to climb ReverbNation’s “Hot 500 Rock” chart, reaching the #2 position in 2012. AUG have since held a position in the top 20 of the New York/New Jersey metro area rock charts.

    Naylor’s Notes: Karianne Jean

We all have tears in our hearts, & soul-searching can truly be a maze. But, as we stay close to our dreams, we all have, “Lost The Spark.” At least once in our life. Check out what Karianne Jean has to say.

    When did you start singing?
I’ve been a singer all my life. My mom is an awesome singer herself so that passion for it is something she shared with me very early on. I started writing when I was around 11 or 12 years old, and just never stopped.

    Which instruments do you play?
Most of my life my only instrument was my voice, but once I picked up the guitar it had opened a whole new level to music, and songwriting for me. Am I the next Hendrix? Absolutely not, but I do what I can with the guitar! lol

Describe your musical interests and abilities.
Music has a way of evoking emotion that I think is really special. I know for me when I’m writing a song or performing, there is just no high like it. As far as abilities, I sing and I write songs.

As far as my writing, I love to use a song to tell a story. Once those songs I have written are released, then you’ll see a variety of subject matter. I’m not all about, “he loves me, he loves me not,” songs. There are those too, but I get a lot broader with my story lines. I love to study how different people are, and that comes through in my writing. We all have a story, and I get to tell it! lol

    What famous musicians inspire you?
There are so many amazing musicians out there, especially in country music. The most inspirational to me is Kelly Clarkson. Her voice is the most amazing sound I have ever heard in life (she is the queen!) Her words really speak out to me.

I hope we can be best friends someday because I see a lot of me in her, haha! I think our personalities would mesh really well. I mean, that’s in the creepiest fan girl way possible lol.

I’m also a big fan of Kacey Musgraves, she’s an excellent writer. I grew up in a small town living on country music, especially 90s country. That’s where my heart, my values, and my voice are.

What are some of your best musical memories?
One magical memory is the first time I performed for an audience. I had sung forever, but when I was young I wouldn’t let anyone hear me. I’ve always been a perfectionist who didn’t want to sing for people unless my voice was perfect. My freshmen year of high school I tried out for the school musical on a whim. I was cast as, “Glenda the Good Witch,” in, “The WIZ.” No one even knew I could sing or that I sang at all. All they knew was a cheerleader who would get good grades! lol.

My part was at the end of the play, and I was rolled out on a cart in a big pink sparkly dress. I sang the, “Believe in yourself reprise,” and hit every note perfectly. My mom who is my biggest fan said, “There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.” That feeling from the crowd, and the high of a mic in my hand was the most magical feeling in the world. After, it was hard to take the mic from me!

    What have you previously released?
I’ve really been putting my time in writing and recording. I have had the pleasure of meeting a very talented producer and writer in Studio City, CA: Craig Stull. Him and his wife have taken a real interest in me, and have helped me get tracks laid down in the studio.

I just released the first song I sang for him, which is just a taste of what is to come. The song is called, “Lost the Spark.” It was written by Craig Stull, Candace Chase, and Jillian Banks.

I’m very excited to be making my iTunes début with the coming tracks! That will be a very cool milestone for me.

What advice would you have for beginners?
Gosh, I would say… own it. Do YOU. There are so many people out there who will tell you that you aren’t good enough, but don’t buy into that. Believe in yourself and believe in your craft.

God puts passion in our hearts and talent in our hands to use them, to enjoy them, and to prosper. We are on this earth to thrive and to do anything, and everything we can imagine. Don’t ever forget how powerful you are.

Be patient and take every opportunity that is laid before you, and if it feels right in your heart. It is widely believed that only a few lucky ones can make it in music but that’s a lie. There is more than enough success to go around 100 times over.

How do you balance your music with your family and friends?
You know, there isn’t much balance needed. My family, my friends, and my boyfriend are all so incredibly loving and supportive. They are on this journey with me every step of the way. I got rid of the, “frienemies,” a long time ago! The ones who made me feel like I had to choose between music, or them. When I have time to just hang with my family and my friends I do it, and when it’s time to make music, I make music.

What should we be expecting from you next?
I have a song I co-wrote with Craig Stull, and I am so incredibly excited. The instrumentals are currently being recorded so it’s getting there. It’s still in the works, but we are very excited to release that as soon as possible.

That song will be BIG for me, I can feel it. I really think my genies (fans) are going to love it, and I think it’s something they will be able to relate to.

I strongly believe that we have the power to achieve anything we set our minds to or, “grant our own wishes,” if you will.

They are granting my wishes by supporting me in this crazy musical journey! It has so many special meanings & every single person that supports me in my music is special to me so that is what I’m talking about when I say Genies lol.

Where can we follow your career at?
I am most active on twitter but I am on many social media sites. I’ll leave the links below. On YouTube I have my first release posted as well as countless videos of me doing covers. You will notice most of them are filmed in my car. I like to call that, “Kar-Karaoke.” lol. The car is where I am able to balance sound the best so that has been my chosen place for much of my time.

JLoyal releases new EP ‘Trappin’ in My Didas’

The songwriter, music producer and performer of hip hop known as JLoyal has released his latest EP record, “Trappin’ in My Didas.” The EP is composed of three original tracks and a second mix of the album’s title track, “Trappin’ in My Didas,” edited specifically for play on public radio stations around the world. It has an approximate total listening time of 15 minutes, and has been proudly published on the RoadRunnaRecords independent music label entirely without support from the corporate music industry. Raw, rough, and packed with the legitimate, unmistakable style of rap and hip hop from the American south, “Trappin’ in My Didas” by JLoyal is a surprise powerhouse coming late in the summer of 2014.

The various tracks included on JLoyal’s new EP, “Trappin’ in My Didas,” “Gas,” and “Wake Up,” show different facets of the artist’s creativity and vocal delivery, as well as showcasing a range of talents on the studio production side of RoadRunnaRecords. The wide spread of skills offered in this single EP record hint that much more material from RRR is forthcoming. The label, which was founded 1 March 2014, speaks in few words on its official Soundcloud and Facebook pages.

“RoadRunnaRecords is an independent music label in Augusta, GA,” they write. “We take pride in our craft and only put out professional quality music.”

Their first artist and writer/performer of “Trappin’ in My Didas,” JLoyal, began in music at 14 inside the closet of an apartment. He writes that his main artistic influences are “Wit, pure dedication, drive, hunger, humility, and a love for music and success… I kept at it, improving my craft.”

His journey as a musician hasn’t been easy, but it seems the artist and the label have finally arrived.

“Trappin’ in My Didas” by JLoyal is available online worldwide beginning today.

Daily Dose: Peter Pluck-Know I’m On My Grind

    10309728_756536061035966_3174805257404894464_n

    THEN
Cory Early, better known as Peter Pluck was born in Baton Rouge, La on February 14, 1983. For as long as he can remember, he has taken an interest music; being reminded by hearing stories of him turning his grandmother’s pots, pans, and lamps into a drum set. He began advancing his love for music playing in the band at Kenilworth Middle School, under band director Mr. Khorn, where he learned to read and write music. All through high school he remained active in the band and also in the acappella choir at Glen Oaks High school. As he transitioned from middle to high school he began to take his interest in poetry seriously, which was then turned into an interest to write songs. Being musically inclined, Pluck began to produce music and develop a craft in hip hop. Being influenced by lyrical content, Peter has a vast broad view of musical influences from Prince to Def Leopard; a very eclectic music lover. Wanting a musical career in late 2000, working with friend Charles “Heavy” Lewis to drop his debut album of what he now calls “Southern Ghetto Gospel Soul Music” but as years went by he just had a lot of material. After numerous run ins with the law, leaving music alone to be a father, and being incarcerated; once released in 2010 Peter Pluck starting his own journey to become successful with his music.

    NOW
Peter started Crawfish & Sugarcane Entertainment L.L.C. in late 2013 and has been gearing up to drop his debut album “Explore My Versatility”, but before he drops the album he will drop the mixtape “City of Dreams” to continue to reintroduce himself to fans. He is no stranger to the stage having opened up for acts such as Young Ready and Z-Ro just to name a few, and has fans all over the world. He has worked with artist such as NIP, Mr. Bad Bad, K.B., Lady Lex, Beat Flippa, K.C. Rouge, Sidewalk tha villain, and the list goes on and on.
