Ivy Mor has released her new album titled ‘Milestones’. A bit of Americana with a bookended autobiographical tinge throughout, Ivy captures moments of her life with sonic precision and lyrical clarity and a lush mixture of pop orchestration that really encapsulates the meaning of the words.
Following the release of her last single ‘In Other Words’, Ivy Mor releases her debut EP ‘Milestones’.
Ivy describes the EP as an autobiographical soundtrack which captures the narrative of her lifelong journey, that she has worked on for the past three years with Tel-Aviv based producer Yehonatan Sasson.
With topics such as women empowerment, Veganism (which she has been an activist for in the past 7 years), self-acceptance, identity formation and a longing to belong, the singer-songwriter hopes to send out important messages with this EP and says: “Milestones embodies all the important things I have dealt with which have shaped the woman I am today. I hope people can find their own story within and the messages will strengthen their own identity.”
Some of Israel’s most notable musicians and artists took part in this album including Geva Alon, Tamir Muskat (Balkan Beat Box), Beno Hendler (Raw Tapes), Bentsi Gafni, and internationally renowned cellist Maya Belzitsman.
Juxtaposing her Israeli roots and the different countries she grew up in from the age of 6, Ivy Mor’s music unravels personal stories and various points of view alike with influences from Folk, Pop and Soul. With a tender, warm and genuine vocal, she tells the story through melodies and sounds which have been compared to 60’s-70’s folk artists such as Joni Mitchell and 80s-90’s pop music like Annie Lennox and Suzanne Vega.
